‘Mega Man’ Video Game is Finally Coming To the Big Screens

The Japanese video game franchise “Mega Man” will be very soon turned into a movie. As per the latest updates, 20th Century Fox along with Chernin Entertainment, are the big names that will develop the game into a live action movie. Read on to find out more about “Mega Man.”

There has been no formal announcement regarding the project, neither about the creative team nor about the production details. The idea has just been incepted and is in early stages, the Fox officials do not want to comment about it as it will be very premature to disclose.

Evidently, Hollywood has found a new place for creative ideas and stories with these video games. The fraternity is following a craze for this particular genre recently.  It started way back in 1993 with the making of “Super Mario Bros,” which received negative feedback from critics and was termed as a complete disaster.

But Nintendo seems positive about the idea of adapting video game to movie, as Shigeru Miyamoto, the Nintendo creative said that with such an interconnected world, the varieties should be explored with movies and television, as stated by Slash Film.

Further adding to it, Miyamoto said that the company is much interested in areas apart from the video game business and would like to discover more about visual content production along with character merchandising.

There have been many rumors in the past about such adaptations but nothing has been confirmed. One speculation was the “Legend of Zelda” series, which was reported to be in development at Netflix, but the company later on denied these rumors.

Nintendo eventually made it to the silver screen with Bowser in “Wreck-It Ralph” and Donkey Kong in “Pixels” but for “Mega Man” updates, it looks like we still have to wait.
