“The Messengers” is the sci-fi series promised by The CW to spice up spring 2015. IBTimes stated that five chosen humans would be resurrected for the infamous Scripture concept – Rapture or the apocalypse. It is not yet confirmed if the chosen ones would stop or lead the impending doom to end human life on Earth.

The chosen ones are called Angels of the Apocalypse. Vera Buckley (Shantel VanSanten) is a radio-astronomer who is given the power to walk through walls. She is going to have a more powerful ability which is going to be revealed soon. She has little faith in God because of her son’s traumatic kidnap incident in the past.

The next Angel is Joshua Silburn Jr (John Fletcher), a televangelist who will eventually become rebellious to his father’s wishes in order to focus in being a chosen one. His ability is not yet mentioned. On the other hand, Erin Calder (Sofia Black-D’Elia) is a young mother desperate to save her daughter from her violent ex-husband. She is going to possess a healing ability.

Another Angel is Raul Garcia (J. D. Pardo) who is a federal agent. He almost got killed after an undercover job with a drug cartel from Mexico. After a set-up, he becomes a fugitive. Eventually, he will possess the power to hear thoughts. Lastly, the youngest Angel is Peter Moore (Joel Courtney), a high school student. Living a depressing life in foster homes years ago, he also faces bullies everyday at school. Aside from his intermediate swimming skills, he will be given the power of strength, which becomes a great advantage to counterattack his bullies.

Latin Post added the show is expected to provide consistent reference from the Bible. It also promised a memorable villain who would wait for the five Angels to gather in Houston. Diogo Morgado is going to play the antagonist called The Man and was ironically playing the role of Jesus Christ from the movie “Son of God” and the History Channel series “The Bible.”

“The Messengers” also stars Craig Frank (Alan Harris) and Anna Diop (Rose Arvale).
