Now the reports have surfaced that the young down-and-out  22-year-old homeless man who escorted Miley Cyrus to the MTV Video Music Awards has a warrant out for his arrest in Oregon.

According to court records in 2010, Helt was arrested on charges of mischief and tresspassing at the age of 18 years old. After his probation and rehab stint, Helt went to Los Angeles to find work, but instead he caught the attention of Miley Cyrus.

It was also reported that detective John Williams of the Polk County visited his mother’s home in Salem,  but Helt was nowhere to be found. According to Polk County Director of Community Corrections Martin Silbernagel, the Oregonian officers are pursuing Helt to arrest him for repetitively violating his probation.

He became an overnight sensation on Sunday. He used that opportunity quite well to raise awareness to the subject of youth homelessness.

“All over this city I’ve cleaned your hotel rooms. I’ve been an extra in your movies. I’ve been an extra in life,” “Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought you here tonight. Los Angeles, the entertainment capitol, has the largest percentage of homeless youth in America. The music industry will make over $7 billion this year and outside these doors are 54,000 who have no place to call home. If you want to make a powerful change in the world right now, please join us by going to Miley‘s Facebook page. A dream you dream alone is only a dream, but a dream you dream together is reality,” said Helt during the VMA acceptance speech.

“People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included,” tweeted Miley Cyrus in support of  Helt and homeless people.
