Miley Cyrus Makes MTV VMA 2015 Unsafe For Children Viewers; Billy Ray Cyrus Weeps in Interview
Parents Television Council (PTC) president Tim Winter said that the MTV VMA’s rate should be changed as unsafe for children to watch during an interview recently. It was because of choosing “See You Again” singer Miley Cyrus as the host for the event. How does PTC expect Cyrus to host? Read on for more details.
In an interview with Gossip Cop, Winter was frank about how he views this year’s MTV VMAs. It was especially that the cable television channel selected Cyrus as the host of this event.
“It’s not going to be safe for children to watch. So, they must rate it TV-MA. With Miley’s shtick, it’s probably going to be very edgy, very profane, very sexually explicit,” Winter told Gossip Cop.
Winter believed that the content two years ago was “clearly not appropriate for a 14-year-old.” He sought the program to be rated differently this time in order to make parents aware what content that show would have.
Winter explained that he’s not “completely anti-Miley” and said that Cyrus could be an appropriate host if she wanted to.
“Don’t show explicit content and rate it as appropriate for children,” Winter said.
Billy Ray Cyrus: ‘Makes Me So Sad Just To Think About It’
It could be recalled that many were shocked after the way Cyrus performed “We Can’t Stop” and “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke. It created controversy and disappointment to some of her fans as her image right now was way different during her “The Climb” days.
No one entirely knew why she turned out the way she is now. But as far as her dad Dad Billy Ray Cyrus is concerned, the blame’s on Cyrus’ handlers, “Hannah Montana,” and himself.
In a previous candid interview with GQ, which was around the time that Cyrus was pointed to a string of controversies such as her birthday bong scandal, naked photo scandal, and pole-dancing scandal, Billy Ray said, “She’s got a lot of people [handlers] around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger.”
Billy Ray also wished that “Hannah Montana” never happened. It was during the show’s final season that his “family had fallen apart.” He also wished that he should’ve been a better parent.
There was a feel of sadness and remorse on Billy Ray, especially on seeing that her daughter’s life gets messy by the day. And when the interview approached its ending, he cried the way fathers cry when seeing that they could no longer protect their daughters.
Recalling the singer as an innocent little child, Billy Ray said, “Makes me so sad just to think about it.”
