‘The Mindy Project’: Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Guest Star

The Mindy Project,” which is an American romantic comedy created by the series’s star Mindy Kaling,  featured the life of Dr. Mindy Lahiri, a gynecologist and her struggle to balance her professional and personal life. Real trouble hovered over the television series when reports of cancellation started showing up. However, the sitcom luckily does not have to deal with that anymore because it is coming back on Hulu as a Hulu original series and bringing someone special along with it. Read on for more details.

According to A.V.Club, “Don Jon” and “Inception” star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to feature as a guest star on the first episode of the series’s upcoming fourth season that will premiere on Hulu.

If reports are to be believed then Levitt will feature as Kaling’s character’s husband. Some of the fans might be a bit surprised because when the previous season ended, Mindy ended up pregnant with her boyfriend Danny’s child. Danny, who also is a gynecologist at the medical practice in New York City, was trying to overcome his fear of commitment and marry Mindy.

Questions are being raised as to why would Levitt now feature as Mindy’s husband? Maybe its because Mindy started to get fed up of Danny’s commitment phobia and decided to move on. There are chances that in the story she meets the actor’s character and they get married after sometime, giving rise to a possibility of an alternate story.

It is being said that Levitt’s character will be a reality show producer and the story will be set somewhere in the future. Whichever angle the makers want to take for this series is good because this angle is quite a good one to debut with on Hulu.

In order to prepare for the role and her character of Dr. Mindy Lahiri, Mindy took inspiration from her own mother who was herself an OB/GYN. We all hope to see more fun and entertainment on the show when it’s fourth season debuts.
