Miss Universe 2015 Mess Up: Host Steve Harvey Announced The Wrong Winner! [Watch Video]
It looks like Comedian Steve Harvey is going to get in major trouble backstage. He was to announce the winner of the Miss Universe Pageant 2015 and strangely, he told everybody that the first runner up was the pageant holder. The pageant ended abruptly after the first runner up was crowned Miss Universe. But the show came back on with Steve Harvey apologizing profusely for his mistake and waving a card that clearly said that Miss Philippines had won the title.
It was a bad day for Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez. The lady probably didn’t expect to be embarrassed in the way that she was embarrassed on the Miss Universe pageant. She was declared the evening’s top winner but the crown was hastily removed from her pretty head and placed on Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach’s head, even as she was blowing the customary kisses to the crowd present. The presenter, Steve Harvey, apologized profusely to her and the audiences present that he was sorry for the mistake, but the damage had already been done. He waved this card to the audiences to show how he had gotten it wrong.

The internet, and specifically, the twitterverse erupted with gossip after the announcement. Steve Harvey apologized with a tweet and the tweet went viral too. As of this moment, the tweet has been retweeted 23000 times already.
I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.

Pia Wurtzbach sent out a message to the fans via Instagram. It basically said, “Never give up on your dreams and believe that dreams do come true! Walang susuko! Ang Pilipino, palaban.” Remembering her country, way to go Pia! She captioned:
We just finished our last rehearsal day before the big night. I can’t believe it. I started training November 2012 and now it’s December 2015. It took so long for me to earn this sash with 3 attempts in Miss Philippines. It was quite a journey and tomorrow it all ends on this one big night. Thank you to everyone’s who’s trained me, took care of me & helped me. I’d also like to say thank you to those who challenged me. Deciding to join Binibining Pilipinas was the best decision I’ve ever made. And wow, what an honor it is to represent our country in the most prestigious pageant ever. This may very well be the highlight of my life. Absolutely no regrets. Finally guys, and of course most importantly, I hope I inspired you. Never give up on your dreams and believe that dreams do come true! Walang susuko! Ang Pilipino, palaban. 🙂 #MissUniverse #MissUniverso #ConfidentlyBeautiful #ThankYouForTheLove #ShinePinay #LabanPiaPinas

The Miss Universe pageant night was already a night of important announcements. The Daily Beast reported that Judge Perez Hilton had already announced that Donald Trump was no longer part of the pageant – an announcement that had garnered much applause from the people present. The last bit was so controversial that the news took the twitterverse by storm placing the hashtag #MissUniverse2015 on top of twitter trends in many countries including Australia, United States , and Phillipines.
Latin Times reported that the third winner of the competition was Miss United States, Olivia Jordan. The top five winners included Miss France, Flora Coquerel and Miss Australia, Monika Radulovic who were eliminated in the last round.
