‘Mission: Impossible 6:’ Movie To Be The Last Installment In The Franchise As Tom Cruise Confirms Filming Date

This is one of the best franchises Tom Cruise has been starring in and making for a while now. Ethan Hunt has become synonymous to unbelievably insane stunts and ability to carry out seemingly impossible missions. Tom Cruise recently, confirmed that “Mission: Impossible 6” is currently in the development stage at Paramount and might begin filming next summer.

According to Venture Capital Post, Paramount Vice Chairman Rob Moore has confirmed that they are developing this movie with Tom and given the fact that “Mission: Impossible” as a franchise is stronger than ever, they surely believe Ethan Hunt deserves another movie. The latest installment in the franchise “Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation” went on to gross more than $600 million at the box office, which only gives the makers more confidence to make another one.

Since Tom himself believes that the movie could start shooting next summer and if they manage to release the movie in 2016 itself, this would be the shortest gap between two “Mission: Impossible” films. Last time it took four years for Tom to come out with “Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation,” since the fourth installment in the franchise “Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol” released in 2011.

It is being reported that a new director will helm the newest installment in the franchise since that’s what makes the franchise better and better. Christopher McQuarrie, who directed “Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation,” added that the franchise keeps on getting better and better with every movie and he only feels sorry for the next director who will be helming the sixth one. Unfortunately, with Tom getting older, this movie could serve as the final installment in the franchise and fans would see Ethan Hunt for one last time on-screen. Perhaps that’s the reason why Tom is pushing it forward to release with a really short gap.

Slash film added that apart from the “Mission Impossible” franchise, Tom has also pitched a potential idea for “Edge of Tomorrow” sequel and things are churning out just fine for “Jack Reacher 2.” Tom surely knows how to continue with the glory as he hopes to create two new franchises with the above two movies.
