MMA Fighter Kinberly Novaes Wins Title And Discovers Six Months Pregnancy
MMA fighter Kinberly Novaes, 24, just added another winning title to her collection and got the shock of her life when she came to know she’s pregnant by 12 weeks. Apparently, Novaes was preparing for a forthcoming fight in Brazil when she struggled to lose weight and on doctor’s advice got her ultrasound and blood test done.
“The doctor said I’m 24 weeks pregnant — almost six months — and my baby is healthy and strong,” said Novaes in an interview to MMAFighting.com. “I was worried because I trained hard, fought, cut weight. I suffered a lot to make weight for my last fight, couldn’t dehydrate properly, and I was already training to fight again next week, but the doctor said everything is fine.”
Due to pregnancy, Novaes had been feeling morning sickness, headaches, stomach cramps, but did not really bother about getting it further checked. But after following a strict diet for her upcoming fight, she gained around 2.2 pounds in a mere six days.
Novaes also said that she was a bit stubborn when it came to visiting the doctor. She also stated that she felt tired, had difficulty running and was having a hard time losing weight.
Not being able to accept the reality, Novaes was not really happy initially “I cried a lot, ran out of the hospital, but I realized that was good news,” she added. “I thought I was sick, but I had a baby instead.” she got candid in an interview with MMAFighting.com
Novaes, it seems is, not really the first ever athlete to fight, while she was pregnant. Beach Volleyball star athlete Kerri Walsh Jennings in an interview with Today told that, she was almost five weeks pregnant during the 2012 Olympics. The list has many other celebrity athletes who have been under such situations.
