Modern Family Recap: Marco Polo

“Modern Family” Season 6 Episode 4 “Marco Polo” aired on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on ABC. Cam wanted to maintain his team’s winning streak but feared that Mitch was a jinx. Meanwhile, Manny got a popular girlfriend, and the Dunphys were staying on a hotel while their house was treated for molds. Read on to learn more about this episode.

Previously on “Modern Family” (“Marco Polo”), Gloria (Sofia Vergara) was suspicious of Manny’s friend named Sam. She was talking to Jay (Ed O’Neill) and telling him that whenever Sam would bring Manny home, they would still stay in the car for a moment. Gloria was forcing Jay to take a look. When Manny (Rico Rodriguez) got in, he revealed that he has a girlfriend, and her name is Sam. Gloria wanted to meet her, but Jay refused. When Sam went to pick up Manny, Jay went out and try to pep talk her, but Manny suddenly appeared.

Cam (Eric Stonestreet) was preparing for his game and wanted to maintain his team’s winning streak. He was all about superstitions, and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) thought that it was crazy. In addition, people were sending Cam stuff for good luck. Mitch then realized that football matters to Cam, so he decided to support him.

The Dunphys were forced to live in a hotel because their house needed to be treated from molds. Phil (Ty Burrell) saw this as an opportunity for a family bonding. Hence, all of them will be staying in one room. However, the room was too small that they could not do their stuff. While Claire (Julie Bowen) went out for a jog, Luke (Nolan Gould) tried Sex Grenade (a body spray like Axe). Then something went wrong, and the Sex Grenade turned into a smoke grenade. Phil, being a good dad that he is, jumped into it. He went out to throw it and caught Claire opening another room. It turned out that Claire checked in to another room. Phil had a conference to divide the family, but the kids turned their backs and went to Claire’s.

The game night came, and Jay and Gloria saw Sam cheering Manny. Then Jay spotted Sam kissing another boy. When Manny got home, he cried his heart out to Jay because Sam dumped him. He learned that Sam was just using him to make her ex-boyfriend jealous.

Cam’s team was not doing well. He figured that Mitch was there. He talked him out of leaving because he thinks that Mitch is a jinx. Finally, the team won, just when Mitch was about to leave, on top of a fence. Cam stopped Mitch to celebrate with him.

Phil was feeling bored and played Marco Polo with a Nigerian family. This made his kids jealous. The kids then realized how badly their dad wanted to spend time with them. While he was about to sleep, they called him “Marco” from the pool, and he hastily went out to join them.
