Modern Family Season 6 Recap: Halloween 3: AwesomeLand
Find out how the family celebrated Halloween on “Modern Family” Episode 6 “Halloween 3: AwesomeLand.” Read on for the full recap.
Claire’s favorite holiday of the year has always been Halloween. We’ve seen her decorate their place in the most scary theme. She even gave someone a heart attack a few seasons back because of her gruesome costume. Regrettably, though, it seems like Claire can’t make it this year because she has worked, so she left the theme picking to Phil. This was definitely music to Phil’s ears because for once, he got to take over Halloween.
Phil being Phil decided to go for an awesomeland theme: rainbows, glitters and happiness. He told Claire about this, and the first thing Claire asked if he will douse it with blood and gore.
Mitch was feeling so down because he has lost several cases straight, and he just wanted to win this particular case. The stenographer came in late to court dressed as a spider, and everybody laughed and that made Mitch lost his focus. Again, he lost his case.
Cam, on the other hand, was dressed as Superman, while Lily was dressed as Waldo. He admitted that he never found Waldo in the books. To make matters worse for Cam, he just found out that the school costume party requires parents and children to be in the same costume. He rushed off to change, and when he got to the school, he had a hard time looking for Waldo/Lily. He even Facetimed Mitch to help him look, and Mitch found Waldo, er, Lily.
Cam defended his side to Lily and Mitch that he didn’t know that there was a flier, and he didn’t see it. For the first time, Mitch won a case by proving that the mix-up wasn’t Cam’s fault.
Gloria bought a Princess Fiona and Shrek costume for her and Jay, and Jay said that he’s tired of playing the beast to his princess. So he went out to buy his own costume and got a Prince Charming costume with a wig that looked really good on him. He also felt good with it, and Gloria appreciated it so much. Unfortunately, he lost his wig, and he even got mistaken as Ben Franklin. This upset Jay, but Gloria consoled him by telling him that she doesn’t care about his hair at all.
Meanwhile, back at the Dunphy’s, Claire found out that their new neighbor was planning to put up a scary show for the neighbors, and the competitive Claire just can’t handle it anymore that she left work and took matters into her own hands. She changed Phil’s theme by turning it into an Asylum, which disappointed Phil. Phil still stuck with his theme by wearing a rainbow tux. Amber guilt tripped Claire, and Claire decided to turn back the theme into AwesomeLand once again.
It turned out that Amber and Ronnie did that on purpose to win the award for the scariest house. Of course, Claire didn’t take this so well that she confronted Ronnie, but Ronnie told her how scary she was. Just like that, Claire felt good.
