Natalie Portman to Star in ‘Planetarium’
American actress who won the heart of millions by her portrayal in “Black Swan”, Natalie Portman’s last French film was Luc Besson’s “Leon the Professional” and after all these years, Portman is all set to work with next French director. The American actress will star in the horror film, “Planetarium,” directed by French director, Rebecca Zlotowski. Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily Rose Depp will also co-star the film.
The plot of “Planetarium” is not yet revealed by the director, but Zlotowski gave a brief of the movie to Variety and said that the film will follow the journey of two sisters (played by Natalie Portman and Lily Ross Depp) who have this supernatural ability to connect with the ghosts and how their paths get crossed with a visionary French producer who is performing in Paris.
The film will have a modern resonance with the current crises and the role of different extremists in Paris. According to the director, the character of the producer is openly inspired by the Jewish producer Bernad Natan who was one of the biggest French film industry figures in 1920s and 1930s who died during World War II.
“Planetarium” is co-written by Zlotowski and Campillo, who previously worked in “The Returned”. Principal photography of the film will begin in Paris in September and is expected to release in May 2016.
