NBA News & Rumors: A Two Year Deal With Sasha Kaun Adds To The Reasons To Trade Tristen Thompson

The famous Russian basketball player, Alexander(Sasha) Kaun is recently reported to have signed a two year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers(Cavs)on Saturday. Due to this, Tristan Trevor James Thompson’s term, a Canadian player who had last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, remains lax.

The two-year contract with Cavs was reported by the Bleacher Reports’ David Pick after the two parties met twice within a term of 5 weeks. The first meeting was reported to be in Las Vegas during the Summer League and the second took place just a few days ago in Cleveland. From the above reports, it looks like the deal between the two is impending.

With Kevin Love, Timofey Mozgov and Anderson Varejao already in their team, it is advantageous for the Caveliers to sign Kaun, who has averaged 9.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20.1 minutes last year during the Euroleague season, and this would give them an extra add to their list of the strong players. It is a good news for Cavs’ to sign the 7- foot Kaun, but his addition to the team dosen’t go well with Thompson who still remains unsigned after reprobating offers from the Cavs’ front office, which included a deal of 5 year and $80 million, reports SWR.

According to YIBADA , Thomspon has been offered to either sign an elongation below $95 million asking for the money or sign a qualifying offer of $6.8 million and bow before the market the next year as an unrestricted free agent. It is implausible that Thomspson would sign either of the two, as he may not get the same offers each season. Cavs’ would probably trade Thompson with the teams, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns and Markieff Morris.

Well, it is his hard luck that things are not going on well with this player.
