The Los Angeles Lakers has finally released Jabari Brown from its 15-man lineup and included Metta World Peace to get ready for the upcoming NBA wars. Read on for further details.
Based on a report from News Briefs, the Los Angeles Lakers cut off Brown from the team’s 15-man lineup in order to make room for the NBA veteran player. The Lakers have made this decision as the head coach Byron Scott expects that World Peace would be a “vital player on the defensive sets.”
The Lakers have made a $1.5 million dollars worth one-year deal with World Peace. The team believes that World Peace can “energize his teammates with defense” even though he could not load huge points. His presence could be helpful for the young players of the team, such as Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, and D’Angelo Russell. It is possible that World Peace would be playing fewer minutes. However, he would certainly concentrate more on guiding his teammates. It is expected that the player would become the team’s “brain thrust in the long run.”
An NBA league source revealed to Yahoo Sports that the Lakers have included World Peace on their roster also with a “long-term plan” to make him as an “assistant coach for the franchise.”
World Peace has in fact proved his talent & worth and impressed the management of the Lakers, while he was there with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2009 to 2013, according to Wikipedia entry. Now, he returns to the Lakers after being waived by the team in the 2012–13 NBA season. After that, World Peace worked with the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association, and then Pallacanestro Cantu of Italy. During the offseason, World Peace was “working his way back to shape and mentoring sophomore Julius Randle.”
World Peace has made excellent achievements in his NBA career. His accomplishments include 2004 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, All-NBA honors, NBA All-Star, and 2010 NBA championship. He is one of the league’s premier defenders. The small forward player also has the credit of being a “part of the 2010 Los Angeles Lakers basketball squad.” The player also has the experience of mentoring at the California’s Palisades Charter High School, in 2014.
