According to KpopStarz, the Minnesota Timberwolves is happy that they could have a successful future as they are loaded with many talented players such as Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Nikola Pekovic, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Martin, and Ricky Rubio.
However, the recent NBA rumors suggested that the T-Wolves could trade the shooting guard Martin, as the team is reportedly planning to shift the explosive guard LaVine at the shooting guard position.
However, as per a report from Basketball Insiders, the Timberwolves are not actually making any plan to trade Martin. However, the team would give most of the minutes to LaVine and other young talents so as to help them develop.
Right now, LaVine seems to be the better player. It looks like the T-Wolves are making much investment for the development of LaVine. The decision to downgrade Martin comes as a part of the team’s decision to develop LaVine. Does LaVine’s development directly mean Martin’s exit from the team? Not exactly!
Martin has signed a team friendly deal with the team, and he is still a “very serviceable veteran” player. In case the Timberwolves considers trading him, the player would be the team’s “most attractive trade assets” as his contract is flexible enough to draw the attention of other suitable teams.
Once Zach LaVine performs well in the role and exceeds the expectations of the Minnesota Timberwolves, there might be chances that the team could trade Kevin Martin.
