According to SWR, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ holding out of Tristan Thompson’s contract causes a distraction to the team’s All-Star forward player LeBron James. Based on the NBA trade rumors of the source, the team’s floating situation with Thompson must not be a problem for James who is very much eager for the preseasons.
As per Wikipeda entry, Thompson became the starter of the Cavaliers after Kevin Love’s shoulder injury. The power forward player helped the team reach the 2015 NBA Finals. Indeed, he became one of the NBA’s best rebounders. He has also become one of the “key part” of the Cleveland Cavaliers, after the temporary leaving of the team’s players such as Iman Shumpert and Kyrie Irving who suffered injuries.
CP Entertainment reported that the team has many other players who are dealing with their injuries right now. Shumpert would be temporarily exit from the team due to his wrist surgery. Irving is recovering from his knee surgery.
Tristan Thompson is negotiating with the Cavaliers for a maximum contract deal. It seems that the NBA team could not agree to his demand. However, reports revealed that Thompson has finally signed a shorter contract deal with the Cavaliers, at a $15 million per season rate. The team could not agree to Thompson’s demand as they have already signed Kevin Love on a maximum contract.
