NCIS: New Orleans Recap: Rock-A-Bye-Baby
“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 1 Episode 20 “Rock-A-Bye-Baby” aired last Tuesday, Apr. 14, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on CBS. In this episode, the NCIS team and Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal) raced against time in order to figure out where Baby Lucy “Lou-Lou” was after she was stolen in her father’s car. Along the way, Abigail revealed that she had once gone missing when she was a teenager. Read on to learn more about this episode.
The episode began with nine-month-old Baby Lucy “Lou-Lou” getting abducted in her father’s car. It was after he went inside the house for a second to drop off some groceries.
After the NCIS team came on the scene, it was discovered that the thief had stolen the car keys from the doorknob. The worried father, Naval Commander Josh Newman (Roman de Ocampo), then was scolded by his husband, Marlon Hart (Yohance Myles). However they were interrupted by Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal). She told them that they found Josh’s car underwater. However, the baby was nowhere to be found.
After discovering the tire tracks of a second car, they realized that they were looking at a planned abduction.
They then paid their surrogate, Cassie Palms (Lucy Faust), a visit as she had been extorting money from Josh. Then, they discovered that she was three months pregnant with her own baby and that she had no involvement in the kidnapping.
They then retraced Josh’s steps for the past few days. It led NCIS Special Agent Christopher La Salle (Lucas Black) and NCIS Meredith “Merri” Brody (Zoe McLellan) to the supermarket. On their way, Brody told La Salle that she had considered having kids, but their career choice wasn’t really conducive for it. La Salle, on the other hand, wanted a lot of children. He told Brody that the problem was that his family, genetically, had a lot of issues.
At the supermarket, they discovered that Marlon had often been there with a Chinese woman, whose hair was found inside the car.
On the way to the morgue, Abigail revealed to NCIS Special Agent Dwayne “King” Pride (Scott Bakula) that she had disappeared for nine hours when she was thirteen. Her parents wouldn’t let her climb up Campbell Hill. After nine hours of hitchhiking, she managed to call her worried parents on a payphone. She then told Pride that she had never seen her father like that before and that she had been under house arrest for three months after that.
After talking to Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich), they discovered that the hair belonged to Chen Han (Angeli Lin). She is a spy who had targeted Marlon who worked at DARPA, by having a short affair with him. They then set up a meet with her by using Marlon as bait. She brought her in while Brody and La Salle searched her home, and found a laptop, which they sent to Sebastian.
Sebastian then hacked into the laptop and discovered that her photos of Cabo, when decrypted, contained naval schematics and other classified documents. She then told them that her hair was in the car as she had tried to bug it. She gave them her surveillance camera which picked up a truck from the supermarket that had been near the Newman-Hart residence for four days.
After discovering that supermarket worker Jorge Gomez (Armando Leduc) hadn’t gone to work that day, they went to his house only to discover that he had been killed. After taking a look at his emails, they discovered letters of adoption addressed to a Phil and an Anne.
They then identified Phil in the letters. He was Phil Burke (David Tom), who delivered kosher meat to the supermarket using the supermarket truck. It was after Sebastian found meat DNA in the car that Baby Lou-Lou had been in.
It turned out that he had stolen Baby Lou-Lou so that his wife, Anne (Katie Parker), who hadn’t been sleeping or eating ever since their own baby had died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), could heal. He had done this as all of the adoption agencies had rejected them. He also confessed to killing Jorge. He then told them where Anne and Lou-Lou was. It allowed the team to reunite Lou-Lou with her parents, who reconciled with each other.
Afterward, Abigail decided to finally apologize to her father regarding her nine-hour disappearance.
