‘Neighbors’ Sequel ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ Promises To Be Different

Neighbors” was an inexpensive movie but when a movie like that does an incredible business at the box office, it gets a chance to do it once again. Sequel of the 2014 hit, officially has a title and some updates about it have been revealed. Read on for more details.

According to Cinema Blend, sequel of “Neighbors” has been titled “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.” The movie, which starred Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne, portrayed the story of a couple who discover their new neighbors to be a fraternity. The couple had a friendly exchange with Efron’s character as Teddy Sauders, a fraternity’s leader. However, things began to escalate to the bad side as story progresses.

The sequel is said to be a bit different, as this time a sorority will be moving in next door and will become the couple’s new neighbors. As expected they will be creating some trouble and unexpectedly the couple will turn to their old nemesis seeking some advice. It will be interesting to see what will go down as last time Teddy, Mac and Kelly came together on screen, it was a laughter riot.

It is also being reported that Chloe Moretz has been cast in an important role in the sequel. There are chances that she could be playing the primary sorority sister which means she could be the antagonist in the movie.

Despite an R rating, “Neighbors” was a huge success as it grossed $268 million against a budget of $18 million. Byrne was appreciated for her comic timing as she was hailed as the highlight of the first part. With a female antagonist, probably Byrne’s character will also get a chance to explore certain areas and take the lead. Rogen could take the backseat and let his on-screen better half take on the sorority sisters. Whatever route the makers think of taking with this one, it will be seen once the movie hits screens next summer.
