Nick Cannon to Recur on ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’

Actor and host of “America’s Got Talent” Nick Cannon will be dropping by “Brooklyn Nine Nine” precinct as a recurring guest star on the FOX comedy show. Read on for more details about this news item.

According to Variety, the “Drumline” star will be visiting the set of “Brooklyn Nine Nine” this second season, playing the role of Marcus, the nephew of Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher). The character of Marcus is described as charming and educated. He has recently moved to Brooklyn, staying at his uncle's place temporarily. The actor is expected to be seen in the series beginning in December.

The series has booked some interesting guest stars of late such as Kyra Sedgwick, Eva Longoria, Patton Oswalt and Craig Robinson. Sedgwick, in fact, was seen in the premiere episode of the second season last September, as Deputy Madeline Wuntch, the longtime rival of Capt. Holt. Robinson was also seen early on as the Pontiac Bandit. The rest of the stars will be seen in upcoming episodes this November, with Longoria playing the role of a district attorney and Oswalt reprising his role as Fire Marshall Boone.

The 2014 Golden Globes winner for Best Comedy Series, “Brooklyn Nine Nine” stars Andy Samberg as  police detective Jake Peralta. A bit happy-go-lucky but very able and talented, Peralta has to prove that he is best man for the job to his new boss, Capt. Holt. Aside from Samberg and Braugher, the series also stars Terry Crews as Sergeant Terry Jeffords, Melissa Fumero as Detective Amy Santiago, Stephanie Beatriz as Detective Rosa Diaz, Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti and Joe Lo Truglio as Detective Charles Boyle.

“Brooklyn Nine Nine” is written and created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, who both worked on the series “Parks and Recreation.” The two also serve as executive producers along with David Miner, who worked on “30 Rock.”

The show is currently on a brief hiatus for two weeks on FOX, as the baseball series is still on. It aired its Halloween episode last Oct. 19, 2014. “Brooklyn Nine Nine,” however, will be back for fresh new episodes this November.
