Now on its 27th year, Nickelodeon will hold its annual Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) on March 29, 2014 at 8 p.m. at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. Talented actor and star of the upcoming “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” Mark Wahlberg has been tapped to head the “biggest kids’ event of the year.”

Wahlberg will join the impressive list of previous hosts that includes Will Smith, Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Josh Duhamel.

According to Vulture, Wahlberg has never starred in Rated G movies aside from “Invincible,” a Rated PG film. Wahlberg previously has been in 9 PG-13 movies and but that didn’t stop Nickelodeon from getting the Hollywood star as the host.

In a report on The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s president of content development and production, said that the network is indeed thrilled having him on board.

“We can’t wait for him to host and have lots of slime-filled fun with Hollywood’s biggest stars and our audience,” said Hicks to THR.

Wahlberg will be joined by other Hollywood celebrities to present several awards and grace the event including returning presenters Lea Michele (“Glee”), John Cena (WWE), Tia Mowry (“Instant Mom”), Ross Lynch (“Muppets Most Wanted”) and Kaley Cuoco (“The Big Bang Theory”).

Other celebrities who will make their debut as presenters of the orange blimp awards are Divas Brie and Nikki Bella (WWE), Will Arnett (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”), Michael Strahan (“LIVE with Kelly and Michael”),  Jim Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”), Kristen Bell (“Veronica Mars”), Debby Ryan (Jessie), and Andy Samberg (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”).

Indie music acts American Authors (“Best Day of My Life”) and Aloe Blacc (Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and “The Man”) are 2014’s musical performers at the KCA.

Known for its trademark green slime and crazy antics from the presenters, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards introduced new awards in their 22 categories including Favorite Funny Star, Favorite Animated Animal Sidekick, and Most Enthusiastic Athlete.
