Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra Is Going Digital

Fans of Nickelodeon’s “The Legend of Korra” need not fear! The animated show, the sequel to the popular hit animated series on Nickelodeon, “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” will not be cancelled. Instead, it will air online. Read on to know the full story.

For fans of the show, this comes as both bad and good news. The bad news is that the last televised episode of “The Legend of Korra” (Book 3: Changes, Episode 8: “The Terror Within”) will be aired on Friday, July 25, 2014, on Nickelodeon, at 8:00 p.m. However, there is still a glimmer of hope for the fans, as the next five episodes, that will round off Book Three, will be shown online on and other digital platforms such as the Nick app, Xbox, Hulu, Amazon and Google Play.

According to TV Line, the show’s creators, Michael Dante DiMartinto and Bryan Konietzko, have stated on social media platforms such as Tumblr and Facebook, that there will be a Book Four or a fourth season. This news comes as a relief to the anxious fans of the series as the adventures of the new Avatar, Korra, will continue on until the very end, as Book Four will mark the final season of the show. They also mentioned that they were disappointed with what happened, but are still happy for the opportunity to still work on it until the story ends. They are also glad that the fans will be satisfied that it will indeed still have a fourth and final season.  The duo, who were also behind the series’ prequel, “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” will share more details about recent developments during their panel at the San Diego Comic-Con Friday, July 25, 2014.
