Nicki Minaj Almost Died

Nicki Minaj was shaking before the 2014 Black Entertainment Television or BET Awards audience while telling about her near-death experience. Read on to learn more about the nerve-racking moment of the female rapper.

“Super Bass” and “Star Ship” singer-rapper Nicki Minaj shared to the audience the time when she thought she was going to die. In the Hollywood Life report, Minaj wittily narrated, causing the viewers to laugh instead of inviting emotional reactions, that she was praying so hard but did not want to be rescued by an ambulance because if the ambulance would come to rescue her, the incident would definitely be on TMZ. So Minaj added that she would rather wait until the moment her breath escaped her.

Minaj chose to share her experience in her acceptance speech for her award as the Best Female Hip-hop Artist at the 2014 BET Awards on June 29, 2014 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.

Before sharing the incident that shook her, Minaj announced that she would have an album coming, one which represents women in an industry dominated by men according to Ecumenical News. She continued by thanking God for putting her in the right place to act and be a representative of women in a male-driven culture. E! News reported that the album Minaj was referring to was “The Pink Print” that will have been released by the end of 2014.

The BET Awards was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other minorities in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment over the past years. For 2014, Minaj received her fifth award as Best Female Hip-hop Artist.

Although she did not mention the complete details of her near-death experience during her speech, Hollywood Life reported that the singer was allegedly with Lil Wayne in the studio along with some of his crew. Despite being a nonsmoker, Minaj allows others around her to smoke. But there was too much smoke in the room that, when she got home, she could barely breathe until she felt her heart palpitating too fast.

The good news was that she was perfectly well during her performance of her latest track, “Pills N Potions,” at the awarding event. Lil Wayne and Drake, Minaj’s Young money bandmates, were also recognized as best group of the year. Meanwhile,Beyonce and Jay Z’s video performance of “Partition” concluded the BET awards.
