‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’s’ First Poster Revealed

"Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" is the sequel to the 2009 “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” and will be the third and final installment of the trilogy. The film will see the return of Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Dan Stevens, Ben Kingsley, Steve Coogan and Ricky Gervais, with Rebel Wilson and Dan Stevens joining the fray. It is both Mickey Rooney and Robin Williams's final films, since both have passed before the release.
When the magic powers of The Tablet of Ahkmenrah begin to run out, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) must span the globe, uniting favorite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic before it is gone forever. Newcomer Rebel Wilson will be playing Mindy, a shocked security guard who discovers the museum’s afterhours activity, while Dan Stevens will play Lancelot from the Arthurian legends.
The original pic, “Night at the Museum,” released in 2006, became the highest grossing film in its opening weekend, earning $30.8 million in 3,685 theaters. It was on the #1 spot for three consecutive weeks and grossed a total of $571,069,550, $250,224,440 in North American territories, and $320,845,110 overseas, while its sequel “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” grossed a total of $411,755,284 worldwide, $177.1 million domestically and $236 million in other territories.
“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is directed by Shawn Levy and written by Robert Ben Garant, David Guion, Michael Handelman and Thomas Lennon.
