Noah is ‘Not a Religious Story’, What is it Then?
A monumental film is headed our way in 2014 which will be based on Noah and the Ark. Though we got a slight taste of Noah’s story in the comedy film from Evan Almighty which starred the comedic actor Steve Carell, Noah focuses more towards on the serious side of the story and is being deemed as ‘Not a religious Story’.
Reports have stated that Paramount Pictures and New Regency have set a March 28th 2014 for the epic film which will be featuring Russle Crowe as Noah. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky who shares his fascination of the story of Noah and his Ark with the viewers. The director had this to say about his film:
“Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey.” He said. He continued on to say that he hopes to present a window into Noah’s passion and perseverance for the silver screen.
Although Aronofsky has a great passion for the story of Noah and will try his best to present the full picture of the tale to us he strictly believes that it will not be a religious story. This might lead to anger some Christian fellows by hearing Darren’s secular perspective on the film and its premise.
“I don’t think it’s a very religious story” says Darren, and explains further that from his point of view, it is just a great story that nobody has had the chance to see on film.
Darren Aronofsky had begun work on the film back in 2011 as a graphic novel with a few images being leaked on the internet.
We’re sure to expect a great movie from the confident director but what do you guys think about the views of the film makers about the story? Are you upset by their perspective on it deeming it as ‘Not a religious story’? let us know what you think.
