Daniel “Danny” Atlas control a downpour of heavy rain, observe Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder and his lethally impressive sleight of hand card tricks, new stage act Lula releasing a torrent of pigeons out from her jacket and hypnotist Merritt McKinney declaring, “It’s great to be back!”
The sequel of the 2013 magic caper which earned $351 million worldwide is set a year after the incident of the first heist.
Den of Geek reports that this time around “The Four Horsemen” and their new recruit Lula will now face a much more brilliant adversary who coerces the magical roster to work on his behalf. Eventually, they will be tricked and will once again be on the run as they are hunted down by the authorities.
Daniel Radcliffe, the “boy who lived” in the “Harry Potte”r movie franchise, is the biggest addition to the cast and plays Arthur Tressler’s (Michael Caine) son. The young Tressler is seeking to avenge the disgrace of his insurance magnate father from the “Horsemen” during the first installment of the movie, Xpose mentioned.
“So happy to be working with you — ta-da!,” the now bearded Radcliffe says as he meets the Four Horsemen and messes up a card trick to conceal his deviousness.
Mark Ruffalo also returns as the FBI agent obsessed with putting the group behind bars, Dylan Rhodes. Other new additions to the cast include Jay Chou (The Green Hornet, The Interview) and Sanaa Lathan (The Cleveland Show). The movie under Lionsgate is now directed by Jon M.
