Now You See Me 3: No Illusion; Film’s Trilogy in the Works!
Now You See Me 3 will attempt to pull off one of the hardest tricks in Hollywood – a well-received trilogy. A third movie from the franchise is said to be in the works. The fact that it was turned into a trilogy even before the sequel was released is impressive.
A Game N Guide report stated that Lionsgate started developing Now You See Me 3 almost a year before the sequel even hit theaters. The revelation was made by CEO Jon Feltheimer during a company conference with analysts. The news might be surprising but it does make perfect sense, especially with how well the sequel did.
Now You See Me Continues To Rake In The Dough
The second installation of the franchise was released in June this year and raked in $331 million worldwide, despite the mixed reviews it received from the critics. Its ticket sales underscored Feltheimer’s previous claims about the movie pulling in “a hefty amount of box office dough.”
Now You See Me revolved around The Four Horsemen, a group of crafty stage magicians who used their skills of misdirection and sleight of hand to steal from the rich. The group comprising Danny (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt (Woody Harrelson), Henley (Isla Fisher) and Jack (Dave Franco), helped FBI Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) avenge his father. The movie was panned by critics but found a steady following among moviegoers.
The sequel operated on the same premise, albeit on a more complicated one. This time around, The Four Horsemen were tapped by tech prodigy Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) to steal a chip. The movie ended with the group deeply ensconced in the mysterious organization, The Eye.
As for the third movie, very little is known regarding its plot or characters. There have been reports though that most of the original cast will return. But it remains to be seen whether Now You See Me 3 can pull off another trick at the box office.
