Once Upon a Time Season 4 Recap: Shattered Sight

The Spell of Shattered Sight has been cast in Storybrooke, and it caused a commotion in “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 Episode 10 “Shattered Sight.” Read on for the full recap.

This episode was full of flashbacks. We kicked off with Ingrid in 1982 in Boston, where she met Madame Foustine. She is a fortune teller whom she seek to give her information on Emma. However, Madame Foustine wasn’t able to give her what she needs. She waited for 28 years until she can find her with the use of her power, and that leads us to present-day Storybrooke where she cast her spell.

Snow, David and Kristoff have changed their views and wanted to give up marriage. Anna hatched a plan to follow a story of another glass. They could get even with Ingrid, but the King was dead, which means that the spell was lifted.

Meanwhile, Emma and Elsa found out that they can’t use their powers because of the ribbons. Ingrid told them that the love in those ribbons can’t be matched. Then we have Regina who locked herself up in a vault to protect everyone from her and her evilness. With the love in the ribbons that Ingrid said, Emma came up with a plan. She’s going to use hatred to break it, so she went to Regina.

She confessed to Regina the reason why she brought Marian back. She wants her to lose Robin and see her and Hook living their happily ever after. That did it and just when Regina was about to kill her, they placed the ribbons in her way so the ribbons get the full impact of her powers. It was successful because they gained their freedom.

Another flashback showed us in 1999 in Minnesota in Home for Displaced Children where Emma was. We saw how Ingrid tried to make Emma stay in her home no matter how many times she wants to leave. She tried everything to get her to like her. Everything was going well when Ingrid told Emma about her powers. She pushed her in front of a car to trigger her powers, but it didn’t have her desired effect on Emma. When she did, she lost her trust for a mother figure. Emma didn’t get why someone would put her in danger instead of giving her the chance to like herself for who she is.

We also found Hook who’s immune to the spell because his heart is with Rumple’s. His next mission was to find Henry, and he easily found him. He had difficulties making him travel because Henry slipped away from him and the whole chase begun.

Now that Regina was back to her evil ways, she’s making things 10 times worse in Storybrooke. She even sent Anna and Kristoff where they came from. Anna and Kristoff were starting to fall apart due to the spell.

We had another flashback in Storybrooke, May 2001, where Ingrid played the role of an ice cream parlor owner, waiting for Emma to arrive in 2011. She did. But when Emma arrived Ingrid sensed that she’s not ready to talk to her, she took away her memories.

Elsa came face to face with Ingrid. Elsa didn’t have the courage to destroy Ingrid. Luckily, Anna came in the picture and read Gerda’s letter to Ingrid. Ingrid felt her sister’s love again and restored peace in Storybrooke.
