One Direction Makes Fans Cry With Farewell Song, ‘History’
Phenomenal group One Direction just dropped a new single last Friday. The song “History” is said to be the their parting song to fans. Read on to know more!
E! News reports that Days before launching their “Made in the A.M.” album, the “hand-clapping, sing-along song” gives homage to the 1D’s inconceivable accomplishments for the last five years. All of which, could not be done without their eternally supportive fan base.
According to Liam Payne, the new song is a “modern version” of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” “More than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing—One Direction—over the past five years.” he said.
With lyrics like “You and me, we got a whole lot of history / We could be the greatest thing the world has ever seen” and “So don’t let it go / We can make some more / We can live forever,” it does sound like a goodbye message.
“Out of [‘History’] comes a little bit of closure,” Payne added.
As was relayed last August, the group has confirmed that they are taking a planed hiatus after releasing “Made in the A.M.”, so “History” will for sure be a memorable one for fans—a song that will leave its mark to 1D’s very loyal followers.
According to sources, the chorus of the song will be pulling at fans’ heartstrings, as Niall Horan and recurrent One Direction Collaborator Julian Bunetta had several of them to the recording studio to do the part at the same time. It was an idea Payne claimed to be originally his.
“It’s really great because obviously that song is mainly about the fans and what they’ve done,” Payne said. “I think it was important that they were a part of it, to close the album.”
