One Direction has Some of the Most Popular Tweets this Year
Even though One Direction is leaving for their hiatus, it seems they are not going to be diminishing anytime soon since the boy band just showed why they are considered amongst the best, as they happen to have some of the best tweets this year.
According to The Telegraph, out of the top 10 tweets this year, 5 of them belong to One Direction alone. The tweets range from birthday wishes, appreciation, anniversary and a little touch of nostalgia.
Ranking on no.8 is Niall Horan’s birthday wish to his band mate Liam Payne. The photo shows both Liam and Niall performing a song with deep expressions. This birthday wish alone got 320,000 retweets and about 370,000 people favorited it.
Standing on no.5 is Louis Tomlinson’s tweet to their fans. According to the tweet, Louis thanked his fans for their immense support and mentioned that they have a different class altogether. This tweet was favorited over 520,000 times.
Coming in on no.3 was Payne’s tweet about the band completing 5 years. In the tweet, he was thankful to all his band mates and congratulated them on the success, which in turn was favorited about 546,000 times.
Second and First rank too was rightfully grabbed by the boy band as Zayn Malik’s tweet about his former bandmates grabbed the second spot. In the tweet, he expressed his support to the band and praised their single that they released without him. It was favorited about 675,000 times. Finally ruling the roster was Harry Styles’ tweet about Malik leaving. Naturally as the most followed member of One Direction, Styles’ tweet about Malik’s departure from the band was loved by all. It was favorited about 750,000 times.
Mirror added that One Direction really does need a break because recently Louis Tomlinson had a bizarre outburst as he threw his phone off stage while filming for “Alan Carr: Chatty Show.” It was in between their interview that his phone started ringing and that’s when he threw it off stage. With them going on hiatus now, this break would certainly come across as a breather for the boy band and they will be able to come back with something better once they return.
