One Direction Versus Justin Bieber: Who Will Top the Charts?
It is the battle of the “Pop Princes” and One Direction just won the battle on their home turf when they zoomed past Justin Bieber to top the U.K Charts. Read On!
The hot-selling album “Purpose” is Justin Bieber’s much awaited album and fans have been waiting for him to come up with something new since 2012. This album is Justin’s way of showing the world that he has still got it. The album screams “I’ll show you” with Justin giving his best for every song.
According to Fortune, the album has already emerged victorious on many fronts. Bieber is the third to place 14 songs on the Billboard’s hot 100 list. The previous record holders were The Beatles and more recently, Drake.
According to Inquisitr, One Direction has also released its new album this week, infuriating the sometime friend, Bieber, who seriously didn’t need the competition. But their new album “Made In The A.M.” is sizzling on the charts too, what with it being their last album before their supposed hiatus! Will they really take a hiatus from music or is it merely a marketing tactic? I guess we will find it out next year.
Their album, “Made In the A.M.” is doing really well, largely due to pre-orders. We suppose that their fans were just waiting to buy their latest. They have beaten Bieber in sales. But they have both sold over 90000 copies since the first week of release with One Direction leading by about 3000 with 93000 copies. But it is a very close margin and mid-week sales have shown a surge on Bieber’s side and he is expected to lead the sales very soon.
Whatever the outcome of the battle, this definitely seems like the year of bubblegum pop. We hear that the Gods of Rock are feeling a bit unsettled sitting on their high thrones. Rock icon, Noel Gallagher was caught swearing when they asked him about One Direction. “It looks like the times, they are a changing.”
