Deadline reported that “Orphan Black” got a 10-episode renewal order on November 23, 2013. Perry Simon of BBC America said in a statement that Maslany’s’ performance in “Orphan Black” stood out along with the other critically acclaimed shows in 2013.

Sarah is still looking for her daughter Kira after getting caught in the deadly clone wars with Rachel, who lied about Kira’s whereabouts. Sarah also showcased her impersonating skills of her fellow clones. This time, it was Cosima.
Alison tries to live a normal life for the nth time. She swore that she won’t do alcohol and pills and now, she’s part of a musical!
According to The Huffington Post Canada, the show will continue to follow a theme on each episode title. “Orphan Black” Season 1 got its titles from Charles Darwin’s “On The Origin of Species.” This time, the episode titles of “Orphan Black”Season 2 will be based on the works of Sir Francis Bacon.

According to the official synopsis posted on the BBC America Web site, Allison is still on the brink of breaking down at the funeral of Aynsley. There’s a possibility that she will return to her “paranoid” side after her one, true best friend died and it was her own doing. Will the authorities find out about her connection to her best friend’s death?
On the other hand, Cosima continues to get worse with the same respiratory illness that is also present in some of their other clones. Despite having vast knowledge in genetics, only time can tell if she would succeed or face her death.
Sarah got no other choice but to seek the help of Art in order to find her daughter who’s missing. Oblivious to their devious plans, she will be shocked on where the information will lead to.
Meanwhile, Deadline also reported that the show returned with flying colours on its premiere. It was said that “Orphan Black” held the attention of the audience among the 18-49 years old age bracket, placing second behind “Doctor Who.”
The show also got a great standing due to the social media buzz that it got from 2013. It was reported that the show has trended in both Twitter and Tumblr on April 19, 2014, the day of its Season 2 premiere.
