The Oscar-winning composer James Horner who died in a plane crash on Monday has left a considerable library of works that benefited some of the finest mainstream films. The film composer is known for his heart-tugging works on “Titanic” and “Braveheart.”

James Horner, 61, died in a plane crash near Santa Barbara, on Monday, June 22, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The source revealed that Sylvia Patrycja, assistant of James, confirmed the Oscar-winner’s death.

“We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart and unbelievable talent,” wrote Sylvia on Facebook on the day of his death. “He died doing what he loved,” she added.

Horner has worked on two “Star Trek” movies and three James Cameron films. He has also worked for classics such as “Field of Dreams,” “A Beautiful Mind,” and “Apollo 13.” The highly talented film composer has won two Academy Awards for his heart-tugging scores for “Field of Dreams,” “Braveheart” and “Titanic.”

When we remember the awful final moments of James Cameron’s “Titanic,” Horner’s music keeps ringing trough our hearts and minds in a rhythmic way. The film’s powerhouse orchestral score made by James “won him Oscars for original score and song,” reported the guardian. The composer’s breakthrough score is for “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” in which his music conveyed the enthusiasm and thrill of voyaging through outer space.

The source also added that the two-time Oscar winner was one of the elite group of Hollywood composers who can be trusted in with confidence to score a movie with imagination, professionalism, compassion and sensitivity. Horner created scores that worked on the film’s deep structure & texture. He was staggeringly creative, and produced “music as naturally as breathing.” He often works for 16-hour days, putting himself an overwhelming workload.

We are sure all of us prefer music themes of the great composer and Hollywood giant. James Horner’s death is definitely a great loss to the Hollywood film industry.
