‘Outlander’ Season Spoilers: Clive Russell Plays Simon, Jamie Fraser’s Grandpa; ‘Tough Scene’ Between Jamie & Dougal
Although Starz have not made confirmation just yet, there was also no attempt on denying that a new cast is being considered. But if the Twitter of “Outlander” is to be the basis, then it is easy to guess that they are trying to introduce one of the most prominent character.
“Outlander” has recently posted a picture over Twitter of a young guy with caption which mentioning about the teen star Oscar Kennedy will be playing the character of the the gentleman William Grey! So the news surrounding the identity of who is going to play the young version of Lord John is finally out. It is going to be played by no other than the 16 year-old Oscar Kennedy, who also appeared in “Hunted” and “ The White Queen”.
According to the news, Kennedy will soon be making his initial appearance approximately at the end of second season. And hopefully, this will be premiered around spring. Rumors has it that the older version of the character will appear around season 3. Although there wasn’t any confirmation from the Starz about season 3, but if basing on the acceptance from audience and global impact, it is easy to assume. The character of John Wiliam Grey proved to be hugely important factor in Jamie and Claire’s story.
Among other cast announcement, Starz have included Clive Russell. He will be playing the part of Simon, the grandfather of Jamie Fraser in 2nd season. Simon was nicknamed as “Old Fox” in Gabaldon’s novel due to his manipulative nature. Who also ends up arguing with his determined grandson, Jamie.
Lastly, Clive Russell was also a cast member of “the Blackfish” as Bryden and “Game of Thrones” as Tully.
