‘Outlander’ Star Caitriona Balfe Dishes Out Some Juicy Details about Season 2!
“Outlander” Season 2 is already filming and Caitriona Balfe who plays Claire Fraser has some scoop about her character and other details on the upcoming season of the series. Read on for more details.
During the Comic-Con 2015 panel, Access Hollywood reported that Balfe’s conversation about the show before she returns to Scotland to film.
“It’s going really good. It’s a very visually – a very different show this year. I mean, obviously Claire and Jamie are sort of center and all that still. But yeah, it’s really beautiful. The sets are fantastic – so rich and so lush and the costumes are incredible, bit you know what I’ve been really enjoying is that Claire’s pregnant and playing all of that – what that brings up in her and about impending motherhood and everything. It’s just been a really, really fun, great material to work with.” Balfe said.
In “Outlander” Season 1, Claire thought she couldn’t get pregnant. She even had that “talk” with Jaime (Sam Heughan) and now that she is, Balfe said that it deeply affects her character.
“It changes everything. When you kind of believe that something is impossible and then that changes… it brings up a lot of stuff about her own family and her past. She lost her parents when she was 5, so she’s never really had that kind of mother figure there to guide her, and I think it brings up a lot of that stuff for her, but it’s something that brings Jaime and Claire really together, and it’s a beautiful part of the story.” Balfe said.
“Outlander” Season 2 will bring in a dramatic change from the dreary parts of Scotland to the sophistication of Paris, which will change the entire feel of the series.
The majority of “Outlander” Season 2 will take place in the past, but fans can still see some of Tobias Menzies’ Frank.
