‘Outlander’s’ Diana Gabaldon Talks About Jamie and Claire
Diana Gabaldon, the author of the novels that “Outlander” is based from has revealed some details about our beloved characters in the series.
According to Design & Trend, Gabaldon revealed that he has a close relationship with one of the lead stars of “Outlander,” Sam Heughan who plays Jamie.
“The only actor who talks to me about his character routinely is Sam Heughan and I’ve known him since the moment he was cast. I was very excited about his audition tape and I am on Twitter, so, I took a quick look to see if he was on there as well as he was,” Gabaldon said.
Gabaldon was also asked who she has more in common with between Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters. Gabaldon said that she sees more of Jamie in herself, but she said that Jamie is more of her since she is the author of the book and it reflects her.
On the other hand, she also mentioned that she sees also some parts of herself in Claire’s character, particularly the take charge kind of personality that Claire has. She also said that Claire’s talent and sarcasm are also a huge part of her personality. Gabaldon revealed that she is a Catholic, and so is Jaime in “Outlander” and it is very noticeable how Jaime’s catholicism affects his moral outlook on things, in which Gabaldon can definitely relate to.
As of now, “Outlander” Season 2 is still filming up until New Year of this year. It is reported that Season 2 will premiere sometime early next year, but no one from the show has confirmed it yet. Fans are already dying to see what’s going to happen next on their beloved time-travel series. There is also that one lingering question on who’s going to play Jaime and Claire’s daughter, Brianna Randall.
