‘Partners’ Movie Plot: Mark Wahlberg’s New Buddy Cop Comedy With a Twist
This is not the first time Mark Wahlberg is appearing in a buddy comedy movie that has him playing the role of a cop. After having previously starred with Will Ferrell in “The Other Guys,” Mark Wahlberg has come aboard to do another movie in the same genre. But it’s a little bit different this time around; he will have a female partner to accompany him.
According to Cinema Blend, the said project is in development at New Line and Evan Lerner who has served as a producer on “Journey To The Center of The Earth” and “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” has written the script making it his first attempt at Screenwriting.
The movie will pit Mark’s character with a partner, only this time it won’t be a male partner but a female cop. Of whatever is known about the story, Mark’s character will fall in love with a mysterious woman he’s had a one night stand with and surprisingly this woman will turn out to be an FBI officer and more importantly his boss on the case. She will be teaming up with him on the case, which is being said as a very high profile one.
It does sound repetitive, only the new part in this movie seems to be the female partner thing. There are a couple of choices that come in mind for the female cop role alongside Mark Wahlberg. There are chances that if a popular comic actress joins the cast of the movie, it could become slightly different and give an additional touch of humor to it. Maybe Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks, Lizzy Caplan or Kristen Wiig could be cast in the role and with their addition, it could serve as a fresh pair and let the actresses discover their humorous side even more. However the project is still in a very early stage as Mark Wahlberg other release with Will Ferrell “Daddy’s Home” is geared up for a December release. People will surely love to see both of them team up after their previous venture “The Other Guys.”
