Patrick Dempsey to Join ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby;’ New Love Interest for Bridget?

“Bridget Jones’s Baby” is happening and Bridget Jones will have a new love interest… in the form of “Grey’s Anatomy” Dr. McDreamy actor? Read on for more details.

According to Adelaide Now, Patrick Dempsey has landed a role in the upcoming “Bridget Jones” movie. This marks as the third installment of the hit romantic comedy series based on Helen Fielding’s books. However, Fielding said that the third instalment of the movie will not be based on her latest book “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.”

Dempsey’s role in “Bridget Jones’s Baby” will be his very first on-screen appearance on the big screen after his role in “Grey’s Anatomy.” Details about his role are being kept under wraps, though but judging from his McDreamy looks, it’s possible that he’s going to be Bridget’s new love interest… or a fling, perhaps?

As for Dempsey, he has some questions on how people will see him aside from McDreamy. Will people accept his new character? He is taking this as a new challenge to create a new character that will separate him from his “Grey’s Anatomy” character. He also wants to see how people would react to this new character.

Renee Zellweger, who plays Bridget Jones, will be reprising her role along with Colin Firth who plays Mark Darcy. In the absence of Hugh Grant’s character in the upcoming movie, it looks like Dempsey will be taking his place, which means Firth is getting a new rival. Oh, to be Bridget! Having all these hot men surrounding her!

Are you excited for “Bridget Jones’s Baby?” Plot details are still being kept under wraps, though but we’ll know soon enough. This is definitely one of the most anticipated movies next year!
