“Penny Dreadful” Season 1 Episode 1 “Night Work” Spoilers:
According to the official synopsis posted on TV.com , “Penny Dreadful” Season 1 Episode 1 “Night Work” will start off with an investigation of a murder case that involves a woman and her recruited explorer. What was their connection with the victim?
Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) wants to know who is the killer. She will seek the help of an American showman named Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and the explorer Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) for a personal quest.
It will also reveal that the killer they are tracking down was downright weird and different from the humans. Can Chandler and his team put an end to the creature’s wrongdoings?

At the Television Critics Association (TCA) presscon, John Logan confessed to the TCA audience that he is a “monster” geek and “Penny Dreadful” features several of the iconic monster characters.
He also shared how he came with the idea of “Penny Dreadful” because of the novel about “Frankenstein.” He mentioned that he “wept reading about the pathos and suffering of the poor, vengeful, monstrous creature” when he re-read the novel.
“I think it’s because the monster breaks my heart. Growing up as a gay man before that was as socially acceptable as it is now, I knew what it was like not to feel socially acceptable, but the same thing that made me monstrous to some people made me who I was.” Logan told during the TCA presscon posted on Deadline.
