Peter Jackson Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Just before the release of the “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” its director, Peter Jackson, was recognized for his work and was commemorated with his very own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The memorable event held on Monday was not only attended by hundreds of “Hobbit” fans, it was also attended by some of the celebrities who have been part of the trilogy. Those in attendance included stars in the movie such as Andy Serkis (Gollum), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Lee Pace (Thranduil), Richard Armitage (Thorin), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Elijah Woods (Frodo Baggins).
Jackson was honored for bringing to life the series of books written by J.R.R. Tolkien — both “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy and its prequel “The Hobbit.” While the cast of the film was supposed to be traveling to attend different world premieres of the movie, the stars could not help but to take a time out to be present during their director’s special moment—a director whom they have already treated as part of their family.
Unfortunately, Luke Evans, who plays Bard the Bowman, was a no show at the event. His agency, Shelter PR, has failed to comment on why the Welsh actor was missing from this momentous event.
In the cinematographic world, Jackson is a name to reckon. As a matter of fact, he has made a name for himself for being the director, writer and producer for “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, a movie which brought him three Oscars.
After his infamous role as a director for New Zealand films, Jackson has achieved a notion that he only dreamed of 40 years ago during a family trip to Hollywood where he first glimpsed upon the Walk of Fame. With his success in the cinematographic industry, Jackson has indeed won a recognition he truly deserved.
“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is set for a release this week. It is the last film under “The Hobbit” trilogy. Jackson’s star sits outside of the Dolby Theatre, where it nests silently with the likes of Steven Spielberg and Nicole Kidman.
