“Inside out” is an upcoming 3D computer-animated fantasy-comedy film produced by Pixar from an original idea from Peter Docter, the writer and director for “Up.” The said film will venture out to the minds and thoughts of the female adolescent. The pic was inspired by Docter’s daughter Elie's childhood transformation. She has transformed from being a mischievous girl into a quiet pre-teen as she approached adolescence.
The film is set in the head of a young girl — Riley Anderson. It is where the five emotions try to lead the girl through her life. Riley, who has lived most of her entire life in Midwest, gets uprooted from the life she’s familiar with when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. She will then be guided by her five emotions that live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind. The emotions will help the young teen get through with every day life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to navigate a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters, although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive. Unfortunately, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
“Inside Out” is directed by Pete Docter, best known for directing the films “Monsters, Inc.” and “Up." It is co-directed by Ronnie del Carmen and producer Jonas Rivera. The 3D computer-animated fantasy comedy is produced by Pixar and to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures for a scheduled theatrical release on June 19, 2015.
