Playboy’s Shannon Twins Gets Into Car Accident; Kristina Apparently Arrested for DUI
Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriends, the Shannon twins were injured in a dreadful car mishap in Beverly Hills earlier this week. Read on for more details.
People Magazine confirmed that Karissa and Kristina Shannon were involved in an accident at the corner of Whittier and Whittier and Trenton drives. Mail Online reported that wreckage was so severe, the roof of the white Mercedes-Benz G-wagon had to be slashed exposed by firefighters to remove Kristina from it. Karissa, on the other hand, was retrieved through the windshield. TMZ has additional photos.
The reality stars were brought to a local infirmary and were treated for their injuries. According to a source, “Kristina was driving and lost control of the car. The car rolled.”
Police said that the 26-year-old ladies both suffered minor scratches and bruises but are safe. Apparently, the two were on their way to get their nipples pierced.
Beverly Hills police Sergeant Max Subin said that Kristina Shannon was given a citation for misdemeanor DUI while getting treated. “We cited her and released her to the care of the hospital,” he said. “We will be submitting our case to the district attorney for possible criminal filing for driving under the influence.”
Kristina is scheduled to show up in court on January 12.
Awkwardly, this is not the only instance either of the two have found themselves in legal trouble. Karissa was detained for misdemeanor battery in 2007 and both were charged with aggravated battery in January 2008, after supposedly getting in a fight at a house party with two other guests. The sisters pled no contest to that charge and were placed on probation. Karissa and Kristina rose to fame when they moved into the Playboy mansion in 2008, appearing on the final season of E!’s “The Girls Next Door”. They moved out in January 2010 but continued to appear on the show. Another show was added to their reality TV career when they joined “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2012.
