According to Collider, the (mentioned) female characters will all be seen as the Bennet sisters in the upcoming adaptation. However, the director Burr Steers has tactically planned the movie so that the male stars remain in the limelight all over the place.
The Bennet sisters are reportedly guided by Mr. Bennet in weapon and martial arts training at a Shaolin temple to combat the zombies. The movie will show an army of undead zombies bullying and attempting to take over the British establishment.
“There is a scene where my proposal to her goes horribly wrong and we end up having a fight in the drawing room where she attacks me with the letter opener and poker, Sam Riley said who has played the character of Mr. Darcy, as reported by The Independent.
Steers’ movie is based on the 2009 novel “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” It is co-authored by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. According to James, the movie will portray her character as a fiercely independent heroine. It also includes other five Bennet sisters who would fight and destroy and have “senseless violence” with the zombies.
According to ET, when the first footage was screened, the movie focused on the closet-wearing Bennett sisters getting married off. However, this time Mr. Bennett was heard of saying that his daughters were exclusively trained for the battlefield, not for the kitchen.
Screen Gems will release “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” on Feb. 5, 2016.
