‘Prison Break’ Season 5 Possibly to Reappear Starring Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell

It has been six years since popular television show “Prison Break” season 4 ended. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will reprise their roles in the upcoming Fox’s series “Prison Break” season 5 as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, respectively.

Details of the comeback are sketchy at the moment; however, according to TVLine, it would be similar to that of last year’s American television series “24: Live Another Day.” It would have a dozen of episodes and a closed-ended storyline.

Earlier this year, it was during a press tour when Miller said to the media, “We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest. They seemed to think there was something there.” He also said that was just a baby step at that point.

Gary Newman, co-chairman, Fox Networks, also commented early this year that there was no plan for them to revive the “Prison Break” series, but he admitted that it “would make the perfect event series.” Although anyone has not discussed with the media recently confirming its comeback, but it seems they have changed their minds.

Created by Paul Scheuring, “Prison Break” was an American TV serial drama, which was broadcast on Fox starting in 2005. The show originally ran for four seasons and finally ended in 2009. Adelstein-Parouse Productions produced the series in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

“Prison Break,” in the first season followed two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. A structural engineer by profession, Michael Scofield tried to break his brother out of the prison. Burrows was wrongly accused of murder and sentenced to death. He was detained in Fox River State Penitentiary where he was waiting for his execution.

“Prison Break” received several nominations and awards. It was nominated for People’s Choice Award in 2005 for Favorite New TV Drama. The show also had two nominations at the 63rd Golden Globe Awards for Best Drama Television Series and Best Actor in a Drama Television Series in Jan. 2006.
