“Prison Break” Spin-Off in Development

As of late, it seems that revivals, spin-offs and sequels  have been the trend on television, given the fact that there is currently a “Boy Meets World” and a “Full House” revival and sequel, a revival of cult favorites “Twin Peaks” and “The X-Files”, as well as a revival of the comedy “Coach”. Adding to this, according to exclusive reports on Deadline and on TV Line, is “Prison Break”, as it seems like FOX is actively developing a spin-off for the show. Read on to learn more about the latest on the development of a brand new chapter to “Prison Break”.

According to an exclusive report on Deadline, the spin-off of the series “Prison Break”, which starred Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who are also recurring cast mates on “The Flash” and series regulars on “Legends of Tomorrow”, is gaining more mileage as it seems like “Prison Break’s” creator and executive producer, Paul Scheuring is more interested in the project, which has been in development for several months and FOX.

According to the article, Scheuring already has an idea for what to do if it does push through.

The plan is that the spin-0ff, which, according to TV Line, will probably be an event series which would have a closed ending, would chronicle another prison break centering around Miller and Purcell who portrayed brothers in the series, and who will be joined by another third party.

It isn’t certain if the show’s two stars will truly join the series, but according to Deadline, the two have expressed interest in reprising their roles once more if the spin-off pushed through. Also, it is hoped that other characters from the show would also appear in a gust star capacity, or in cameo appearances.

It also reported that the show’s former executive producers, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Parouse will also return in their former roles for the spin-off show.
