‘Prometheus 2’ March 2017 Release, Surer By the Day as Production Officially Starts January 2016
A September 2015 edition of Total Film revealed the start of the “Prometheus 2” production. When would it be? Read on for more details.
The magazine cited director Ridley Scott who said that he’s got to go back to doing sci-fi films and that he loved doing it.
“After shaping the genre with ‘Alien’ in 1979 and ‘Blade Runner’ in 1982, he only recently returned with 2012’s ‘Prometheus;’ he [Scott] begins shooting ‘Prometheus 2’ in January,” Total Film said as shown in an image.
The picture was posted by a “Prometheus” forum member since Aug. 2, 2015. The news spelled good news for fans of the sci-fi movie. In fact, there were some who said that they could cry after hearing the news while others jokingly said that their heads were exploding with joy.
“I think I might be suffering from mild heart acceleration right now,” a fan said.
The members also discussed the possible release date of the said film. And since the production was set on January 2016, BigDave believed that March-May 2017 could be possible.
Fall 2016 could also be likely, but this timeline was said to be probably for “Alien 5.”
“Prometheus 2” Plot
So, what could fans expect in the upcoming movie? Although the image did not reveal the plot of the sequel, ComingSoon.net reported that Scott previously said that there won’t be Xenomorphs in the sequel.
Citing Scott’s interview with Yahoo! Movies UK, the director said that the Xenomorphs are done already and that featuring them wore him out a little bit. Instead, he planned of including the Engineers as a good start in the movie.
Other details about the “Prometheus 2” plot were leaked recently by BigDave’s source. He said to have seen the early stages of the film’s development. The source tipped that the sequel would connect LV-223 and LV-426.
Furthermore, two new monsters was said to be featured that could have some connections with Xenomorphs but were not precisely the same as the Xenomorphs. The Black Goo was also mentioned, noting that it’s going to be used as a method to give life instead of being utilized as a weapon.
So far, these leaks are still uncertain since Ridley Scoot is yet to make an official statement. MNG advises readers to take these with a grain of salt.
