‘Prometheus 2’ Movie and Cast Updates: Michael Fassbender Reprises Role; Ridley Scott Plans to Create Multi-Part Sequels

While most fans are already anticipating to hear most of the answers to these questions in ”Prometheus 2,” director Ridley Scott revealed some interesting details about the sequel, its connection to the “Alien” franchise and his plans of creating a multi-part sequel. If you are a fan of Ridley Scott’s movies, then you’d better brace yourselves for more “Prometheus” movies from the highly acclaimed director. In a recent interview with FilmFutter (via Cinema Blend), Scott revealed that he is not just planning on creating “Prometheus 2,” but is in fact looking forward to doing three sequels to the movie.
Not only is Scott planning to do a “Prometheus 3” and “Prometheus 4,” but the director also admitted that the franchise’s connection to “Alien” will be addressed in the third or fourth sequel.
“It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the ‘Alien’ franchise,” he said.
Scott pretty much confirmed everyone else’s suspicions and described how things would fall into perspective and how “Alien” connects with “Prometheus.”
“The whole point of it is to explain the ‘Alien’ franchise and to explain how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as a kind of piece of bacterial warfare,” he added.
Meanwhile, a recent report from Christian Today also noted that “Prometheus 2” is expected to provide answers to some of the unanswered questions from the first installment of the franchise, including more details about the Engineers.
Michael Fassbender, who plays the role of android David, will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel while details of Noomi Rapace’s return is yet to be announced. “Prometheus 2” is expected to begin production in 2016 with an estimated release in 2017.
