‘Prometheus 2’ By Ridley Scott To Be A Trilogy; Re-Titled ‘Alien: Paradise Lost’ To Feature Xenomorph!
“Prometheus” movie is going to develop into an entirely new franchise. Recent reports have emerged that the sci-fi “Prometheus” is being revamped to share connection with Ripley. Director Ridley Scott, who is busy with “The Martian” movie’s success, shared some interesting insights about the upcoming “Prometheus 2.”
“Prometheus 2” by Ridley Scott has recently received re-titling- “Alien: Paradise Lost.” While addressing the development, Scott told Empire, “In a way it is Prometheus 2. It’s exactly the same story. But it was always in the works to be called that [Alien: Paradise Lost]. Is Prometheus actually taking us off course from where I’m going, which is actually backing into the first Alien.”
While talking with German website FilmFutter via Telegraph, Ridley Scott revealed huge news for the “Prometheus” franchise.
It writes, “He [Ridley Scott] will be making at least three Prometheus sequels. The films, which are set in the same world as the Alien movies, will eventually overlap with their [giant, xenomorph] mother franchise – but, despite the “Alien” title, the crossover may not be happening in the next sequel.”
The report also added that “Alien” franchise and “Promoetheus” franchise will be merging from the third part of “Prometheus” franchise.
“The Martian” director Scott also revealed the return of classic Xenomorph in “Alien: Paradise Lost.” “Years ago, I kept mulling over what Alien 2 could be. I was fiddling around with some ideas. I was always fascinated with why this thing [the xenomorph] would be made, by whom, and for what purpose? The planet it was on – and I was looking at the dark side of the moon – would be called Paradise,” added Scott.
“Prometheus” sequel, which is set to release on May 30, 2017 under Scott Free Production and 20th Century Fox Films, will be filmed in Hungary. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace will be reprising their characters Elizabeth Shaw and David.
