Queens of Pop Unite: Madonna reaches out to Beyonce at her Mrs. Carter concert
Brooklyn’s Barclays Center was filled with too much splendor on Thursday, Dec. 19, when Madonna stepped in Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter show with her 8-year-old daughter, Mercy James. The Material Girl, 55, paid tribute to her fellow star via Instagram. Madonna shared a photo of Queen Bey onstage in her iconic purple sequined jumpsuit.
“Mrs. Carter crushes the BK with her bad ass show!” the legendary pop star captioned the pic. “Girls run the world!”
Madonna’s daughter Mercy got some special attention from the “Flawless” star mid-concert. “Mercy James gets a big fat one from the Queen B!” the “Turn Up the Radio” singer wrote alongside the photo, which shows Beyonce leaning down to plant a kiss on the young Mercy’s forehead.
Madonna has three more kids in addition to Mercy. These include the daughter Lourdes and sons Rocco and David Banda.
There are just a few shows left on the 2013 leg of Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter World Tour.
The 32-year-old songstress stunned her fans on Dec. 12, when she released her self-titled album via iTunes, featuring 14 songs and a whopping 17 music videos. And one thing we couldn’t help noticing in that album was Beyonce’s “Haunted” video, in which she clearly paid homage to Madge! So, this means it’s not a uni-directional affection at all.
Billboard currently projects that the visual album has sold over 550,000 copies, which has set it to secure the top slot on the Hot 100 chart.
