Raising Hope Series Finale Is Set To Air On April 4, 2014 After The Show’s Cancellation


It’s time to say goodbye to the eccentric and lovable ‘Chance’ family that got us all hooked with their quirky adventures since 2010. ‘Raising Hope series finale is set to air on April 04, 2014 after the show’s cancellation was announced by FOX last March 10, 2014.

RAISING HOPE is a single-camera family comedy from Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia (“My Name Is Earl”) that follows the Chance family as they find themselves adding an unexpected new member into their already terribly flawed household.

Starring Lucas Neff as Jimmy Chance, the show also includes Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt as Virginia and Burt Chance, Shannon Woodward as Sabrina Collins, Baylie and Rylie Cregut as Hope Chance, Gregg Binkley as Barney Hughes and Cloris Leachman as Barbara June Thompson.

Despite the announcement of new season grants for Golden Globes Award-winning show ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘The Mindy Kaling Project’, ‘New Girl’ and ‘The Following’,  the network pulls the plug for ‘Raising Hope’ after four seasons as reported in an article on E! Online.

“Getting to know and love the Chance family on Raising Hope has been a sweet, hilarious ride, ” Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“Thanks to the incredibly talented cast – along with Greg, Mike and the entire crew – for making us laugh for four fantastic seasons,”

According to Wikipedia, during its four-season-run, the show had received numerous awards and nominations including Satellite Awards 2011’s Best Actress in a TV series in a Comedy or Musical for Martha Plimpton, Outstanding Achievement in Casting-TV Pilot award for Dava Waite from the Casting Society of America in 2011 and Best Sound Editing-Music Short Form Television for Sharyn M. Tylk and Susan Ham from Motion Picture Sound Editors in 2012. Plimpton was also nominated, alongside Cloris Leachman  for two Emmys as Oustanding Lead and Guest Actresses in a Comedy Series during the Emmys also in 2011.

 “We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.” said  Executive Producer Mike Mariano in a statement.

The executive producer of the show also thanked their audience who kept tuning and supported the show over the last four seasons in a statement while Lucas Neff tweeted his gratitude, according to TVLine.

“Thanks for watching! Thanks to the writers, directors, cast mates + fans who made it possible. Goodbye, Jimmy,” wrote Neff on Twitter.


Raising Hope series finale is set to air on April 4, 2014 at 9pm in a two-part episode.

The part one of the Raising Hope series finale titled ‘How I Met Your Mullet’ will feature “guest star Lesley Nicol Downton Abbey) plays Jimmy (Lucas Neff) and Sabrina’s (Shannon Woodward) new maid.

It will be followeb by the second part of the finale titled “The Father Daughter Dance,” where we will see “Virginia’s (Martha Plimpton) dad (guest star Jeffrey Tambor, Arrested Development) return to Natesville with a big surprise for her and Burt (Garret Dillahunt), including a musical performance by Kenny Loggins (guest-starring as himself).”
