Another “fixer” sets to return in Hollywood much earlier than “Scandal’s” very own Olivia Pope! The much anticipated return of the critically-acclaimed “Ray Donovan” Season 2 airs on July 13, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. on Showtime. Until then, we will serve you with the latest news on the “Ray Donovan” Season 2 spoilers as well as updates on returning and new cast members of the show.

According to TV Line, the freshman drama series will return for its second season on July 13, 2014, it will be shown alongside “Masters of Sex” starring Michael Sheen and Lizzie Kaplan.


“Ray Donovan” is an American crime drama is about Liev Schreiber’s role as Ray Donovan. Donovan leaves South Boston to become a law firm”fixer” for the elite and glamorous people of Los Angeles, California. On the other hand, he seemed powerless over family matters including the return of his father, Mickey from being imprisoned for several years.

The series is created by “Southland” showrunner Ann Bilderman and co-produced by Bryan Zuriff, Mark Gordon and Allen Coulter. Members of the powerhouse cast include Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig as Lena, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, and Devon Bagby.

Zap2it previously reported that Showtime President for Entertainment David Nevins confirmed the network has renewed the series for another season. The show’s season renewal was followed by the continued high rating performance since its smashing debut in June 30, 2013.

Aside from that, the series and cast had been lauded by several award-giving bodies. The performance of Schreiber and Voight got them two Golden Globe nominations, with Voight nabbing the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Liev was nominated for Best Actor – Television Series Drama).

On the other hand, Deadline reported on several new cast members who are set to join the upcoming premiere of “Ray Donovan” Season 2.

Hank Azaria will take on the role of the ambitious James Cochran, who now heads the Los Angeles FBI department. Also, Sherilyn Fenn will have the role of the FBI honcho’s wife, Holly Cochran.

“3:10 To Yuma” star Vinessa Shaw will head to the glitzy world of Ray Donovan as an award-winning journalist who will investigate the death of Sully (James Woods) by writing a book about it. It was said that her character will have a season-long arc in the show.

Several characters will need Ray Donovan’s fixing skills including music mogul Cookie Brown (Omar J. Dorsey of “Django Unchained”) and a self-help guru played by “Fight Club” cast member Eion Bailey.

Other new recurring cast members include Heather McComb, Ann-Margret and Andrea Bogart (“General Hospital”), who will have entangled connections with several characters in the show.
