Resident Evil franchise’s final movie has gone into production. The new movie titled, “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” is set to release in September 2016. Actress Milla Jovovich will battle zombies once again in the final installment of the Resident Evil series.
Actress Milla Jovovich recently posted a photo on her instagram account, and declared that the filming for the next installment of the Resident Evil series has begun. Apparently the film is being shot in South Africa. The photo showed Jovovich getting a face cast while getting ready for the shooting of the movie, the Master Herald reported recently.
While Milla Jovovich is in the lead, actors Wentworth Miller, Sienna Guillroy, and Spencer Locke are rumored to star in the movie as well. There will be other characters reprising their roles from the other movies in the series. It is rumored that Bing Bing Li will return to play Ada.
The entire film will be filmed in 3D and will probably have a 3D release as well. Fans will obviously be delighted to hear this as the Resident Evil films are known to have good action choreography and special effects.
This movie’s story will chronicle the events happening after the events depicted in the last movie with the franchise, “Resident Evil: Retribution.” Alice will once more try to thwart the evil machinations of the Red Queen and finally save humanity in the face of the zombie epidemic. The series tells the story of an evil corporation called the Umbrella Corporation unleashing a virus that turns humans into zombies. The Red Queen owns the corporation and orders the zombies to kill Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice.
“Resident Evil” series is considered to be the highest-grossing film series that is based on video games. It has earned $915 million so far worldwide.
